HOME: Blanchette AT Muirfield - FINAL DUAL MEET - *with a twist*
To all:
This is our final swim meet of the season, and hopefully this time we will avoid the thunder/lightning! I've attached the Meet Program and Entry files and as always, please write up the event information BEFORE arriving at the pool! It's always chaotic before a swim meet and this will reduce the confusion.
We're going to adopt a couple ideas we gathered from our last meet at Dardenne, so look for some small enhancements to the process.
Now, the "twist" I mentioned in the subject line. Blanchette has challenged us, and we must now answer their challenge!. The final event of the regular season is event 110, and neither team has any regular participants. The event is a 100 yard freestyle, and both teams have agreed to permit anything in that event, even turning it into a relay of as many members as you want. Swim, walk, float, cannonball starts, just anything, as long as you can finish the race. So, I have told Grant (their Head Coach) that I will come out of a LENGTHY swimming retirement and race him for up to 50 of the yards. Grant told me that his fellow coaches are excited about the competition, so I hope we can get lots of takers. Any parents, kids, lifeguards, and etc. that would like to participate in this final event/exhibition - please reach out to me, and the computer table at the swim meet. Lets have fun with this, so please don't leave me all alone out there and lets see if we can field a team for all six of our lanes.
