HOME: Blanchette AT Muirfield - Results & Wrap-up

    Marlins:

I wanted to do a brief wrap-up of the last dual meet of the season and share the results.  Both teams had a lot of swimmers that couldn’t attend, but we still had about 150 that competed and overall, I heard generally positive feedback about the Swim Meet Operations.  Glenda revamped our bullpen setup and that too seemed to work well.  There are always areas to improve, and an end of season survey will come out in a about a month – please provide us some feedback there too.It will be anonymous so speak up!

I rarely focus on team wins and losses, as we have no control over who the other team brings.  That said, many are interested in knowing and the final score was Muirfield 853 and Blanchette 830.  I prefer to focus on the areas such as overall swimmer improvements.  If our kids are improving over such a short swimming season and they’re having fun in the process, we’ve achieved something.

Swim Meet Results – Blanchette AT Muirfield

    • Total Athletes                      74
    • Total Results                    195
    • Total Points                       853
    • Total Improved Times         68
    • Percent Improved Times    34.87%

If almost 35% of the swimmers improved times at this late point in the season, that’s impressive in my book!  I especially want to highlight out a few swimmers that improved in all three of their individual events last night!

    • Armstrong, JT
    • Bertrand, Leila
    • Bigard, Katie
    • Terry, Kadence

There were some Marlin record breaking performances last night well, and it’s great to see how high our swimmers keep raising the bar!  Well done and congratulations to our latest All Time Marlin team record holders!

    • Armstrong, JT        100 Backstroke          Boys 13-14

I hope everybody had an enjoyable swim meet last night, and thanks to all of those that participated and/or cheered for event 110.  I received a lot of positive feedback from our friends at Blanchette and their appreciation for a great and fun sendoff.  For those that aren’t aware, Blanchette is switching from our division in the swim League (Clark Division) to the other division (Lewis Division) and they won’t be in our schedule starting next year.  It’s unfortunate, as they have been a very good and friendly opponent for many years.

Thanks to everybody for their hard work this season, and for those that are attending the All County Swim Meet on Saturday – GO MARLINS!!!
