2018 All County Meet - Important information

    Marlins:

We've received the first, of what will probably be several, communications from the All County Meet Director.  For those that haven't attended this swim meet before, it's ran very similar to the dual meets we've hosted/visited to this point - just on a larger scale.  The All County meet is expected to have approximately 900 swimmers attend and they are roughly divided into two sessions - an AM and an PM.  It's our turn to swim in the afternoon session this year.

The All County meet is large enough to run two pools simultaneously to get through all the events and the many heats for each event.  That said, I expect the meet to last less than 4 hours.  The official meet estimate should be provided in the Meet Program when it's published.  In the meantime, the All County Meet Director provided the first two documents.  One you should recognize, the other you likely haven't seen before unless your child swims competitively for a winter team.

As you've seen, I've been attaching the Event Entries sheet along with the Swim Meet Program.  They have not yet "seeded" the swimmers in the Meet Manager software yet so the Event Entries sheet will only let you know the event numbers.  If they release an updated/seeded Event Entry form - I'll distribute it to the team.  In the meantime, you can at least review the events your child is scheduled to compete.

The other attached document is known as the "Psych Sheet"  The intent is to "psych up" your swimmer when they see the competition level and where they stand.  I've personally refrained from creating/distributing this document because this is a developmental summer league.  I was more concerned about some kids being "psych'd OUT" rather than "psych'd UP".  I'll leave that to your discretion though with your kids, so only share it with them if you feel appropriate.

The meet is closed swimmers, but in the event you find an error or need to scratch your child from an event please contact either me or Glenda ASAP.

I hope that everybody enjoys the swim meet on Saturday, and as always:  GO MARLINS!!!
