Marlins,

Last season we closed the final swim meet with an extra event to end the meet and it was open for all kids and parents.  I've had a number of parents ask me if we're doing it again, so yes - lets do that again this season!  We'd like to have a 200 free relay team that is truly 'OPEN'.  Depending on the interest level from our team and the Vineyards, we may have teams from four to eight members - we're pretty flexible.  Last year we asked that all swimmers NOT swim a competative stroke for 25 of the yards, so we saw doggie paddle, synchronized swimming, corkscrew, and other oddities.  We may do that again, we'll see - but understand that this event is is NOT intended to be taken seriously!  There aren't any ribbons or points involved, but we hope it will be a good way to close out the final swim meet of the year and set us up for the pool party on August 4th.  There will be signup sheets at the ribbon table at the meet, so please come prepared to swim a 'race' and listen up for some informational announcements during the meet on Monday.
