    Worker Shifts

    Hello!

Well, you know what they say about "the best laid plans"...

I received FAR too many special requests for worker shifts to assign them myself.  It became impossible to navigate and also determine whose requests were more "important" than others.

That being said, we are returning to our regular way of doing sign ups.  Here is what you need to know:

    • Each family is required to work 5 shifts over the course of the season.  If you are not signed up for all shifts prior to the meet deadline for the first meet, your swimmer(s) will NOT be eligible to swim, and your worker deposit of $300 will be cashed.
    • If you have been on the team 3 seasons or more, please sign up for at least one bullpen shift.  Note that I will move you into other positions if we have openings and I have new families that need jobs that are a little easier to understand.
    • If you miss the sign ups and do not get the shift/jobs you want or are available for, it is YOUR responsibility to figure that out.  Ask people to trade, or do what you need to, but your 5 shifts have to be accounted for.
    • Please read the descriptions and time requirements for each job.  For example, set up people have to arrive very early on meet days.  Do not sign up unless you can be there at the required time.

    Stroke Judges:

    • You will need to sign up as well.
    • The ONLY families approved to sign up for stroke judge shifts are:
      • Bertrand
      • Jarvis
      • Lubbehusen
      • Conlin
      • Braswell
      • Becker
      • Bowers
      • Schneider
    • If this will be your first summer being a stroke judge for the Marlins, you are only allowed to sign up for 2 stroke judge shifts, and they have to be at different meets.
    • Please also note that stroke judges are required to wear a white shirt and dark shorts/skirt.  This will be enforced this season, so please do not sign up if you are not willing to follow this guideline.
    • As a reminder- your children/friends cannot stand and chat with you while you are stroke judging.  They will be asked to leave.
    • We will have in person stroke judge training on Thursday June 12 at 5:30 during practice.  If you are new to Marlins stroke judging, this is required.  For returning stroke judges, if you have a conflict, we can arrange another time.

All sign ups will open on June 1 at 9:00am.  Follow the same procedure for worker sign ups as you did for meet sign ups.  May the odds be ever in your favor... :-)

    Thank you!
